Given the current economic challenges facing the country and their impact on the housing market, it is easy to feel dispirited without thinking more widely about the motives for moving house.

For most people however, moving home is less about trying make money and more about finding a suitable place to live, be that then need for something bigger for the family, something smaller and easier to manage once the family have left, a fresh start in a new area or, to be closer to friends and loved ones.  Because of this, buyers and sellers will want to move no matter the state of the market and will only wait so long before the desire to make the move outweighs the “wait and see” approach.

Yes, the market has been challenging recently but deals are still being done.  Now that the budget is out of the way and tax changes are clear, buyers and sellers can adjust accordingly.  There is strong pent-up demand from movers who have been putting action off for 12 months or more now.

If you are thinking of selling, the New Year is the perfect time to start the process.  Although January can be dark and dreary, we are able to see through all that to the better times ahead and give you honest, clear advice on how best to market and sell your property to help you move onto the next stage in life, whatever that may entail.

So…. if you are considering a move, give us a call and we’ll be happy to hear from you.  An appraisal and a chat will only cost you a cup of tea ……. and maybe a biscuit!
