Situation

The Cider House occupies a glorious rural location, tucked away amongst tranquil countryside within the charming parish of Putley, overlooking traditional cider apple orchards. The parish of Putley and neighbouring villages form part of the “Woolhope Dome” which preserves and enhances the high-value landscape of this area. Renowned for its beautiful, unspoilt and timeless appeal, this countryside is characterised by orchards, traditional farms and wooded hills. This area offers a sought-after rural idyll combined with excellent communication links to the rest of the country.

The Cider House

Dating back to c. 1750, this delightful property has been lovingly converted and transformed into an individual home by the current owners, completed in December 2015.
The open plan, ground floor space combines a galley-style kitchen with Rayburn, sitting area with wood-burning stove and dining area, all complemented by the original old cider press and millstone, which are a real feature of this delightful home.
Upstairs there are two, good-sized double bedrooms; one with an en-suite shower room, plus a family bathroom.
A large landing area could be utilised as an additional seating or study area.
The original cruck frame and beams add a rustic charm and are a reminder of the property’s historic past.

The Outside

A pair of timber gates leads into the gravelled parking area and car port (c. 4.9m x 3.9m), which has an attached workshop (c. 4.9m x 2.5m), and provides ample parking and additional storage.
Attractive raised beds lead to the property and are interspersed with brick paved pathways and planted with a colourful array of flowering plants and shrubs, including lavender, verbena, clematis, honeysuckle and a variety of daisies.
A sunken, patio seating area provides the perfect place to sit and enjoy the garden and peaceful surroundings.
The property is attached to the neighbouring property, but has a private outlook and garden.
